Jayapura Chondros

This local type is extremely varied in its phenotypic appearance.  Neonates may be red, yellow, or blaze.  Adults are known to be variously green, blue, yellow, and occasionally melanistic.

As of 2011 we are not working with any Jaya type locals or outcrosses.

Male, on loan from Nick Bader

This male was a red neonate.  He sire a clutch in 2008 with another Jaya.  Unfortunately nearly the entire clutch died within 48 hours of hatchin, only two neos survived.

He is being paired to a Kofiau female in 2009.
