Chondros

All 2008 Clutches have hatched!!

Mainland X Aru

• • paired on 10-30-07

  • copulation observed on 11-07-07

  • Copulations continuing as of 12-12-07

  • Female off feed as of 12-23-07

  • Ovulation observed 1-9-08

• • 20 eggs laid on 3-4-08

  • 100% hatch, started on 5/9/08, one animal euthanized for spinal kinking, leaving 19 neos.

• • There is some wonderful diversity in the clutch, with some very dark reds, mottled reds, busy yellows, and reduced patterned yellows and reds! We will be making most of these available once they're established.

Jayapura X Jayapura

• • Pair introduced on 10-7-07

  • Copulation observed on 10-9-07

  • Female is swelled with follicles (I hope!)

  • Copulations continuing as of 12-26-07

  • Copulation 12-22-07

  • Female is swollen and off feed as of 12-23-07

  • Ovulation!! 2-18-08

• • 11 good eggs, 3 questionable, and 9 slugs laid on April 1, 2008!

  • 10 neos emerged on May 31, 2008. Unfortunately only 2, one yellow and one red, survived past the second day.

Mainland X Melanistic Arfak

• • Male was introduced on 9/23 in concert with a large low pressure system.

  • Copulation observed on 9/24

• • Copulations continuing as of 12-12-07, female appears swollen and pale.

  • Female is off feed and pale as of 12-23-07

  • WooHoo!!!!! Ovulation began 1-21-08, on 1-22-08 she is HUGE!

• • Pre-lay shed on 2-18-08, female is very hormal blue now! Eggs expected first week of March.

  • Female entered the nest box on 3-03-08

• • Nine large eggs laid on 3-9-08, unfortunately not all are perfectly calcified. Two have died during incubation as of 4-4.

• • 5 amazing red hatchinlings emerged on 5-9-08!

PNG X Jayapura

• • Male (EA0348vi) was introduced on 10-18-07.

  • Copulation observed on 10-18-07

    • Copulations continuing as of 12-26-07

    • Female on feed as of 1-6-08

    • Female refused feed on 1-19-08

• • Ovulation occured on 2-19-08! Ovulation was short and not very large

• • 8 eggs laid 4-4-08! One is questionable, she may have some retained as well.

  • 7 yellow neonates hatched on June 1-2, 2008. Several have already taken their first meals before their first shed! This clutch contains several blaze animals, a first for us!

Biak/Sorong X Biak

• • Male (EA04017vi) on loan from Eddie Aste is being paired with a BM Biak

• • Ovulation occured on 3-12-08

  • 16 beautiful eggs laid on 4-29-08

• • 12 healthy red neonates started hatching on June 15

Greeri (Durango Mountain Kingsnake)

• • Brumating, cooled on 10-01-07

  • Warming, introduced 2-18-08

  • 8 eggs laid on 5-9-08

  • 5 healthy animals hatched on 7-9-08

Jungle Carpet Pythons

SireDam

• • Paired on 1-05-08, copulation occured within five minutes

  • Copulation observed on 1-10-08

  • Copulations continuing and regular as of 2-18-08

  • Ovulation observed on 2-29-08!

  • 10 good eggs, 2 slugs laid on 4-8-08

• 5 hatchlings emerged on June 11-12, 2008!

Thayeri

Vivid/Applegate Orange Leonis Female X Vivid Reduced Black Orange Leonis Male

• • Brumating, cooled on 10-01-07

  • Warming, introduced 2-18-08

  • Clutch laid on 5-1-08, eggs are questionable

  • Second clutch laid on 6-26-08. Six perfect pearlies, one questionable, and one slug.

  • Two hatchlings from the first clutch hatched on 7-1-08, one milksnake and one leonis phase.

  • 6 hatchlings emerged on 8-24-08, all are leonis phase
